Huawei Cloud Workspace product documentation defines it as a cloud desktop, and users and administrators have different configuration and management tasks. When enterprises deliver desktops on the cloud, in addition to virtual machine configuration, they should also arrange accounts, networks, desktop policies, and operation and maintenance to form a usable working environment.
Enterprise desktops should cover employees’ actual working locations, not just test on the company’s wired network. First confirm the access areas, terminals and data processing methods allowed by the organization, and then verify the meeting, business system and file handover.
Desktop resources can be started and user data can be restored are two acceptance items. Users and administrators should clarify which data is saved by the application, which is stored on the desktop, and how to retrieve it when the service is abnormal or exits.
Deadlines, data transfer and resource recovery responsibilities should be determined at launch. What temporary projects need is not a batch of administrator desktops that will never be recycled, but an authorization and data preservation solution that matches the personnel and task cycles.
Verify that the target region and desktop type support the required graphics capabilities before testing software licensing, VRAM, drivers, views, and exports. The same product name does not mean that different specifications, regions and terminals provide the same performance.
Organizations may control clipboards, files and USB channels based on security requirements. Administrators should first check desktop policies and client support before checking for terminal issues. Do not treat all replication failures as software defects.
First confirm how users access the desktop, and then confirm how the desktop accesses the business system. The link from the terminal to the desktop is different from the link from the desktop to applications and file services. If either side is blocked, it may cause "the desktop is not easy to use".
Administrators are responsible for resources, people, and policies, and users are responsible for connecting and completing work. Huawei Cloud has an independent administrator guide. Before deployment, responsibilities such as creation and distribution, daily support, and account recycling should be clearly stated to prevent everyone from using the administrator identity.
Workspace delivers desktop services that users can connect to and manage, while ordinary cloud servers are closer to underlying computing resources. Whether there is a Windows graphical interface is not enough to judge that the two have the same user allocation, policies and terminal experience.
