Finding work apps in Parallels Client: check publishing and access details

First, identify the product line

Parallels RAS official description covers virtual application, desktop and remote PC delivery, and can be combined with different infrastructures. It's a different product than Parallels Desktop, which runs virtual machines locally on a Mac; organizations deploying RAS still need to arrange hosting resources, identity and software authorization.

Check identity, licensing and desktop assignment together

First check the work account, entrance and published application list, and then verify the file saving and printing. If there are no resources after logging in, record the organization and version used and submit them to the administrator for review and distribution; do not use a private high-privilege account to troubleshoot your work identity.

Successful login does not guarantee an available desktop. Organizing desktops generally also requires users to be assigned to corresponding resources, application groups or workspaces; identity authentication, access authorization and desktop preparation are three things. If you encounter a blank list, first ask the administrator to check the organization and resource allocation to which the account belongs, instead of repeatedly changing passwords or creating multiple new accounts.

It is recommended to use a role list to record what resources are needed by ordinary employees, temporary collaborators and administrators. Minimum permissions are granted when you join the company, resources are adjusted when you are transferred, and sessions are recycled and legally saved work materials are handed over when you leave. Test accounts should be isolated from production identities, and automated scripts should avoid using personal high-privilege credentials. This upgrades "can log in" to "access only approved work environments."

You don’t need to go to the full desktop first when you only need an app

Application delivery solves different problems than full desktop delivery. The former allows users to enter specific business applications, while the latter provides an operational desktop environment. If employees only use one fixed system, application portals may be easier to manage; if multiple programs, file dependencies, and complex workflows are required, a complete desktop may make it easier to restore original usage habits. Before selecting, draw the data flow between applications.

Where the conclusion applies and what to do next

Buying Mac local virtual machine software is not equivalent to buying a cloud PC, and the RAS client is not a separate cloud computing resources package.
