Tencent Cloud Desktop for AI Agents: how much access should you grant?

The CVD product page gives the direction of the Agent running environment, but application pre-installation does not mean that business authorization is completed. Accounts, directories and executable actions should be defined for the Agent. Writing, deletion, external submission and payment still need to be clearly controlled.

First, identify the product line

The Tencent CloudCVD product page uses cloud desktop for mobile office, security development, education and training, and online design. It also provides access to life cycle management and desktop strategies. It is a desktop service that can be configured and distributed. It cannot be understood as just an ordinary cloud host or Tencent's cloud gaming.

AI capabilities differentiate between assistants, reasoning and automatic operations

First let the Agent process the public sample form and limit the output to the test directory. Document task goals, tools, and results, and verify how to pause and resume in the event of an error; do not use isolated desktops as a reason to allow automatic access to all customer systems.

"AI cloud PC" may refer to the built-in conversation assistant, or it may refer to providing a GPU running model, or allowing the Agent to operate desktop applications. The acceptance of these three types of capabilities is different: the assistant looks at answers and data references, the model looks at the environment and output, and the agent checks execution permissions, failure recovery, and operation confirmation. Just because the product page says AI, it doesn't mean it already includes model credits or supports any local model.

Start with low-risk tasks, such as organizing public materials, working with non-private copies of forms, or generating document inventories. Let the agent give a plan first, and reserve manual inspection before writing, deleting, submitting and paying actions. Record the model, tools, inputs, and outputs to determine whether the error is caused by prompts, software interface changes, or permissions. When customer materials are involved, the data processing scope and unit approval status of the model service must also be checked.

Check each requirement for your task

Decide whether you need a conversational assistant, model inference, or desktop agent.
Select public samples to limit accessible directories and executable actions.
Check the results and record the failure recovery method, and retain manual confirmation for important writes.

Apply security controls to accounts and data permissions

You can make a permission list and divide the work into three categories: must be allowed, require approval, and prohibited. Ordinary users should not use the administrator account to complete all daily operations, and the access of temporary collaborators must have an expiration time. If you are just reading the information, it is usually more appropriate to give read-only permissions than write permissions to the entire folder. After a login exception or sharing error occurs, the session and credentials will be recovered first, and then the evidence will be retained and processed along the official process.

Where the conclusion applies and what to do next

The pre-installation of AI Agent in the package does not mean that the Agent has obtained business authorization by default, and cloud desktop cannot handle software copyright and data approval for users.
